Mahabalipuram Photos - These photos were taken when i visited mahabalipurma with my HCL friends in 2001.

Mahabalipuram Photos - Mahabalipuram was the second capital of the Pallava kings of Kanchipuram. It is just 58 kilometres from Chennai City. The temples and carvings here date back to the 7th century.

Meghna's Naming ceremony was on May 30th,2004 in my house(Manju) at Azhiyidathuchira, Kavumbhagom, Thiruvalla. The ceremony was at around 11.30 am and the lunch was served after the ceremony. Around 50 people attended the function. Meghna was gifted with lot of dresses and ornaments.

Meghna, baby of Unnikrishnan P R and Manju M Nair, born on 4th May 2004,Tuesday, at Devi Nursing Home, Tripunithura, Kochi. Meghna's birth was around 8.27 am (as told by Dr.Prema Damodaran), star Chothi, Zodiac sign Taurus. The day was a full moon day and it was a lunar eclipse day too.

Wellington Island Photos

Wellington Island Photos - The Govt. of India Tourist Office, the Headquarters of the Southern Naval Command, the seaport, Kochi Railway terminus, Offices of the Kochi Port and the Customs House and the Cochin Chamber of Commerce and Industry are situated in this island. There are several major trading and industrial Houses here. There are regular ferry services on the lake surrounding the island.
Wellington Island

Wellington Island is an artificial island created with the material dredged up while deepening the Port of Kochi. It was named after Lord Willington, the Viceroy of British India.

Chottanikkara Bhagavathy Temple - New Site
Chottanikkara Bhagavathy Temple is the most important Temple among the 393 shrines spread over 3 Districts of Kerala and coming under the administration of Cochin Devaswom Board.The Devine Mother known as Rajarajeswari (Adiparasakthi) is worshipped here in three forms Saraswathy in the morning, Lakshmi at noon and Durga in the evening. There is an Idol of Mahavishnu on the same pedestal and so the Deity is called Ammenarayana Devinarayana, Lakshminarayana and Bhadrenarayana also.
Apart from the main deity, the temple complex consists of Kizhukkavu Bhagavathy temple, temples for Sastha, Siva, Ganapathi, Nagas and other Upa-Devas. The pleasant atmosphere in the temple give mental peace and harmony to devotees.
"MAKOM Thozhal" (worship on the Makom day) is the most important festival of the temple which is celebrated in the month of Kumbham. (Feb / March) It is believed that Bhagavathy in her full attire gave darsan to Vilwamangalam Swamiyar on the Makom day and appears on the same day every year for giving darsan to the devotees in her special appearance. The Bhadrakaali at Kizhukkavu is believed to exorcise evil spirit from devotees, after conducting bhajanam.

Mrithunjya Homam
Mritunjay Homam is done for a long and healthy life. Mritunday Homam is performed for Lord. Lord Shiva represents the aspect of the Supreme Being and is considered to be the destroyer of evil and sorrow.
Sudarsana Homam
This homam is done to worship Sri Sudarshana Chakra Devata. This Chakra is a weapon which lord Krishna, the incarnation of God Shri Maha Vishnu used to protect his sister Draupadi .By doing this homa, one can win over enemies, be settled in life and becomes successful in business and also to stop the bad effects for bad evils.
Day 4 - Ganapathy Homam, Thilahavanam, Sayoojya Pooja
4th July 2004 - We started with Ganapathy Homam in the morning followed by Thilahavanam and Sayoojya Pooja. Everything was over around 11am.
Ganapathy Homam
Lord Ganesha is always worshipped before starting any Pooja or Homa. Lord Ganesha removes all obstacles. Performing Ganapathy Homa once every year will give prosperity, health and wealth. Ganapathy Homa should be performed in the early morning.
Day 3 - Ganapathy Homam, Mrityunjaya Homam and Sudarsana Homam
3rd July, 2004 - As usual we started with Ganapathy Homam in the morning followed by Mrityunjaya Homam. Sudarsana Homam was performed at night.
Day 2 - Ashta Dravya Ganapathy Homam and Bhagavati Seva
2nd July 2004 - Morning we started Ashta Dravya Ganapathy homam around 4:30am. Ashta Dravya Ganapathy homam is a special Ganapathy homam performed with 8 Dravyas (Coconut, Banana, Honey, Sugarcane, Ghee, Modhaka, Jaggery, Puffed rice). Bhagavathi Seva was performed at night.
Day 1 - Ganapathi Homam, Vishnu Pooja and Bhagavathi Seva
30th June 2004 - We had a Ganapathi Homam,Vishnu Pooja and Bhagavathi Seva at our "moola kudumbam" at Cheruthana South, near vettuvelil temple, 2km from Mannarasala Temple and Haripad Subramanian Temple. (Our house located at Cheruthana North. Achan kovil river sepates cheruthana north and south.) 29th itself we purchased all pooja articles from a shop near Haripad Subramanian Temple. Ganapathi Homam started around 6am followed by Vishnu Pooja. Bhagavathi Seva was performed at 8pm.
Homams and Poojas

We had poojas and homams in our house at Cheruthana, Alappuzha dist. conducted by Mr. Radhakrishnan Namboothiri.

This year we (Me and Manju) celebrated vishu at our house ( Maradu, Ernakulam ). Previous day evening itself we organised a beautiful Vishu Kani with Kani Velllari, Fruits and Konna Poovu. We had to buy Konna Poovu from Tripunithara Market. We had a wonderfull meals (Sadya) at noon with payasam prepared by Manju.
